It's time to really put a stop doon sa pag-spread ng infection.

"Admittedly, our implementation of the social amelioration program was not perfect. And some opportunists turned crisis into opportunity. We will catch up with you sooner than you think,” sabi ni Pres. Duterte.

"The financial and material assistance of the government to the unemployed, the sick, and the destitute running into billions of pesos, are not spared from corruption and ineptitude. Even the donations from well-meaning private persons are skimmed before reaching their intended beneficiaries. It is like snatching food from the mouths of babes,” saad niya.

Taiwanese' relax attitude can result to 'coronavirus tsunami,' says health expert

Although Taiwan is continues in recording streak of no local infections, a doctor from Chung Shan Medical University Hospital Pediatric Emergency Department still warned on Tuesday (July 28), that the Taiwanese citizens' relaxed attitude towards the worsening pandemic can lead to a "coronavirus tsunami" in the country.

After the news broke about the Thai worker who tested positive after leaving Taiwan, Doctor Hsieh Tsung-hsueh expressed his concerns in facebook saying that a surge in the number of COVID-19 cases can happen in the country.

Hsieh explained that there is a possibility that the Thai patient was already infected while in Taiwan, drawing a high probability of spreading the virus.

What even bothers him is the fact that majority of the Taiwanese no longer pay attention to strict COVID-19 protocols such as wearing mask and social distancing. He stressed that if this kind of attitude will continue, a potential "coronavirus tsunami" could occur in the country once it has identify a local transmission cluster.

With this, the health expert urged the public to bring back the level of alertness they have portrayed at the start of the pandemic. He emphasized the importance of being vigilant especially today when no one can guarantee if the safety in Taiwan will last long.

4 undocumented Filipino workers captured in a shrimp fishing farm in Taoyuan

Four Filipino undocumented migrant workers captured by the Daxi police authorities in Taoyuan. They were captured on the evening of July 27th as they ran 200 meters before they were captured by the authorities.

The 4 Filipinos aged 38-48 years old ran fast when seeing the policemen marking making the authorities to capture them. Investigation shows that one of them escaped for 6 years and all 4 confessed to be undocumented migrant workers.

They originally came to Taiwan as fishermen or crew boat members. Later, they fled their employers and worked everywhere to make money. The police sent the four people to a task force team in Taoyuan for processing and awaiting repatriation.

One of them is a 45-year-old man came to Taiwan for a short-term stay at the beginning of this year with a tourist passport, but did not leave the country according to the stipulated time.

Daxi police urged that hiring foreign migrant workers should comply with the regulations to avoid being punished. Employers who hire illegal migrant workers will impose a fine of NT$150,000 up to NT$750,000.

Nagpatupad din ang Department of Labor and Employment, Social Security System,” saad niya.

Nito lamang nakaraang linggo, 12,022 OFWs ang naiuwi mula sa Netherlands, New Zealand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, USA, at iba pang bansa

"This week, the DFA brought home a total of 8,895 OFs from the Middle East, 1,806 from the Asia-Pacific, 677 from Europe and 644 from the Americas. Of these repatriates, 1,400 were brought home from Malaysia, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia on board four DFA-chartered flights, paid for by the Assistance-to-Nationals Fund," pahayag ng DFA sa isang press release.

"We are seeing more severe  cases. The reality is lahat ng tao sa front lines pagod na,” sabi ni Dr. Montecillo.

“‘Yung mga sinasabi sa news na numbers, technically ‘yung iba do’n totoo pero you can’t handpick the data and make it appear na okay tayo,” saad naman ni Dr. Besa.

Customer who bought newspaper for NT$10 won NT$10million in Taiwan's receipt lottery

The customer bought the newspaper for NT$10 from a 7-11 convenience store in southern Pingtung City, according to the store chain. However, the exact date of purchase was not made public.

"And that ($40) was the maximum price in the range for high income countries, rather than a set price,” sabi ni Berkley.

"The truth is nobody has an idea what the price is going to be, because we have no idea which (potential Covid) vaccine is going to work,” pagpapatuloy ni Berkley.
