Taiwanese experts says overseas travel will not be possible until summer of 2021

Taiwanese experts believe that overseas travel will not be possible until at least the summer of 2021 as some countries are preparing to open up after days of lockdown.

Health Minister and Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) Chen Shih-chung shot down he Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) draft plan that tourism in Taiwan may start by October.

Taiwanese scholars foresee that it will take one more year for every country to control the virus, most countries are still reporting high numbers of coronavirus cases per day and it is difficult to determine if and when the pandemic will end, Taiwan News reported.

Meanwhile, there is "no chance" that the coronavirus pandemic will end this summer according to a Zhang Wenhong, a Chinese medical expert.

Some countries attempts to ease COVID-19 measures and prepare for 'new normal' before bringing their outbreaks under complete control may complicate global efforts to prevent new waves of infections.
