Taiwan prepares NT$3.5-Billion fund to fight effects of coronavirus to businesses

Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs is preparing huge funds to fight the effects of coronavirus. MOEA says it is readying NT$3.5billion to help local businesses as the epidemic weighs on their operations.

The budget will be used to establish a contact window for competitiveness development services, to set up a platform to connect public associations, to simplify paperwork for imports and exports and to improve customs clearance efficiency.

The MOEA will also seek to attract more investment from overseas Taiwanese businesses and from New Southbound Policy partner countries.

It is also working on interest subsidies, R&D assistance, talent cultivation, and other measures to assist local companies.
