Taiwan's main airport in Taoyuan records lowest daily passengers in the last 10 years


Taiwan's Taoyuan International Airport have recorded fewer than 60,000 daily passengers which is the lowest in the last 10 years due to the Wuhan coronavirus fear.


The daily average of passengers is 120,000 but this time there were less than 60,000 passengers going in and out of Taiwan, Liberty Times reported.

Taiwan received 11 million foreign visitors in 2019 which is a record high but for now the outbreak of the new type coronavirus (COVID-19) have significantly affclected air travel.

Taiwan’s main airlines, China Airlines and EVA Air, have canceled a total of 1,000 flights while Chinese carriers have suspended all of their flights.

With strict health measures and fear of contacting the virus, travel had dropped big time not just in Taiwan but worldwide.
