Coronavirus Update: 578 'suspected case' have been recorded in Taiwan


According to the latest figures by Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) of Taiwan, there is a total of 578 'suspected case' of the new coronavirus, reported by Taiwan's state run news agency CNA.


The 530 suspected case list starts when the epidemic broke out in China and seven of those are now 'confirmed case' and under medical treatment.

321 out of the 530 suspected cases have been cleared of having the virus or no coronavirus as they have a regular fever for treatment, the rest are still undergoing laboratory tests according to CECC.

The virus is capable of human-to-human transmission according to World Health Organization (WHO).


CECC raised its travel alert for China to the highest level and should avoid traveling to the region, the travel alert does not include Hong Kong and Macau.
