4,325 more COVID-19 patients recovered in PH; highest record in one day

The Philippines COVID-19 recoveries have rose to 20,371 after the Department of Health (DOH) announced 4,325 more patients who recovered from the disease, Monday (July 13).

In a press briefing that was supposed to be held on Sunday afternoon, DOH said that there were also reported 836 infections wrapping the total number of cases to 57,006 as of today. There were also 65 new deaths raising the deathtoll to 1,599.

DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire explained that the delay in reporting on and increase in the number of newly-recorded cases is because of the data harmonization efforts of DOH, the laboratories conducting testing and the local government units (LGUs).

“Kung malaki ang nakita nating pagtaas [ng kaso] kumpara nitong mga nakaraan araw at linggo, these are expected results of data harmonization efforts,” said Vergeire.

She added that yesterday, only 82% of the laboratories were able to submit the COVID-19 test results
