Philippines COVID-19 death toll rises to 45, with 707 confirmed total cases


Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III announced on Thursday at a virtual press briefing that the country’s COVID-19 additional 7 fatalities, the total of deaths has risen to 45. 


The DOH earlier explained that the country’s increased testing capacity for COVID-19 is behind the sudden surge of cases this month after several sub-national laboratories became operational.

The Department of Health forcefully reiterates that PUIs and PUMs must stay at home, public safety relies on everyone's discipline in abiding by ouur quarantine protocols to protect the public, especially our health workers and frontliners from undue exposure.

The DOH is working double- time to ensure adequate supply and timely delivery of our testing kits,PPEs, and other commodities, through the National Task Force for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines climbed to 707 confirmed new cases while a total of 28 patients have already recovered from the disease.
