Pampanga reports first coronavirus patient from a GRAB taxi driver


Pampanga has announce its first coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patient in the central province. The patient is a 33-year old male, who is a ride-hailing transport service driver who plied the routes of Clark Freeport and other towns in the province. He is currently confined in a hospital in Manila.



Gov. Dennis Pineda on Friday (March 13) labeled the patient Pampanga 1 at a press conference.

Staff of the provincial government was directed to fetch the patient’s wife and two children and bring them to the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Hospital here for monitoring.

More than 130,000 cases of COVID-19, with almost 5,000 fatalities were recorded worldwide over 123 countries.
