Four Taiwanese TV shows promoting travel in Taiwan to air in the Philippines

Four television shows promoting Taiwan and co-produced by the Taiwan government will be aired in the Philippines with the aim to enhance people-to-people ties, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), reported by CNA.

The project entitled “Embracing Taiwan”, is produced by the ministry, Aside from the Philippines, Vietnam, India and Thailand will also show the same. The best of the shows they will be aired in local language or a combination of English and Filipino language.

CNN Philippines will be the partner station to air the television shows. “There are so many ways to fall in love with Taiwan,” said Valerie Tan, CNN Philippines’ lifestyle magazine show host.

“Filipinos only know Taipei, but there is also Tainan, Taichung and Kaohsiung. We want Filipinos to visit other parts of Taiwan,” Tan added.

“The project uses a fresh approach that takes into account the cultural traits and preferences of local audiences, and will be broadcast in their languages to foster a better understanding of Taiwan,” according to MOFA official.
