Revamped Hsinchu Zoo re-opens to the public starting Dec 28


Re-decorated Hsinchu Zoo will open on December 28 after being closed for refurbishment and renovations for more than two years, the re-opening was announced by the Hsinchu City Government.


Hsinchu City has been promoting forest gardening in recent years and will implement forest garden to the re-opening of the zoo.

The new zoo aims to provide a comfortable environment for the animals, as well as to educate the public on environmental issues. 


The refurbished zoo has no cages, it is designed with the animals' welfare so that they will have more space to move, rest, conceal themselves to seek privacy, according to Hsinchu City Government.

Hsinchu zoo will also be home to more than 700,000 types of vegetables, which are all available for the animals.

The zoo also features many resting spots that are modeled after real world locations instead of built with concrete. Hsinchu Zoo is located at East District, Hsinchu City.
