Taichung Central Park with more than 10,000 trees fully opens up in Taiwan

Taichung Central Park or the "Lung of Taichung" opens up with an area of about 67 hectares within the Shueinan Economic and Trade Park.

The park has 12 sensory interactive facilities and was designed with the themes of smartness, low-carbon concept, and innovation.

The more than 10,000 trees planted is to create different comfort zones called Coolia, Dryia, Clearias (Cool path, Dry path, Clean path) and connect all these specific climatic lands, offering a diversity of promenades, from the flat clear path to the more athletic dry path.

The park masterplan is designed to enhance the comfort of visitors by naturally strengthening certain existing regions with slightly colder, drier, or less polluted microclimates.

During the Japanese colonial era, the park was utilized as the then Taichu Prefecture’s only commercial airport and later became Taichung’s Shuinan Airport, used for both military and civilian flights.
